What is ArtPocalypse?
"The ArtPocalypse is an Arts Collaborative spearheaded by Odessa Arts and centered
on the novel ‘Station Eleven,’ by Emily St. John Mandel. The program is designed to
encourage reading in our community, invite conversation about the role of The Arts in a
community & showcase the cultural offerings we have right here in the Permian Basin.
500 copies of Station Eleven and the juvenile companion The Giver, will be distributed
for free to the community.
The program will kick off with a concert by MOSC Principal Cellist Amy Huzjak at the historic Rose Building at noon on September 11, 2018, as part of the Second Tuesday Salon series.
Participants will be given a Cultural Passport which will include a schedule of events, a
reader’s guide and information about the program. Passports will be stamped by each
entity as they attend events. Passports can be redeemed for ArtPocalypse swag (5
stamps = ArtPocalypse poster, 10 stamps = T-shirt). Participants who attend EVERY
event can redeem their passport to be entered into a drawing for a trip for two to NYC
(airfare & hotel).
